The History of Old Field Farm

These 15 acres are much more than dirt and trees and rocks...
I have the original deed where my Grandfather Harley Lowry bought this (and a little more land) from HIS daddy Asberry Lowry on March 27, 1905....
When my daddy Paul Lowry died in 1987 we bought this land from my mother, Inez.
I've learned that my Grandmother Maud Smith Lowry, who died when my dad was just 16, was a writer of sorts just as I am.
And I've learned that she had a little store in one room of her house where she sold eggs and other items from her farm---just as I do now....And I look just like her...
And my great-grandmother---Asberry's wife---sat in a log cabin just over the hill, and spun on her spinning wheel in front of the open fire place while babies played on quilts on the floor.
It was a Simple Life.  It was a good life.  My family relied on God and this land---and they were never disappointed.
This land IS special.  This life IS simple.
I am blessed here at Old Field Farm.
